GoodRelations - The Web Vocabulary for E-Commerce

This is the archive of the goodrelations dicussion list

GoodRelations is a standardized vocabulary for product, price, and company data that can (1) be embedded into existing static and dynamic Web pages and that (2) can be processed by other computers. This increases the visibility of your products and services in the latest generation of search engines, recommender systems, and other novel applications.

[goodrelations] Peek & Cloppenburg adds GoodRelations in RDFa to Store Pages

Dear all:

Peek & Cloppenburg, a major German retailer for clothing with stores all
across Europe, has added GoodRelations in RDFa to the individual store
pages.

The interesting thing is that they expose both opening hours and "brand
availability", e.g. data on which garment labels will be available, on a
per-store basis.

Example:

HTML:
http://www.peek-cloppenburg.de/service-kontakt/p-c-haeuser/standort/?no_cache=1&locationId=a1u6sdntb8&iso=DE&rbpwbrdet=az

RDF/XML via PyRDFa:
http://www.w3.org/2007/08/pyRdfa/extract?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.peek-cloppenburg.de%2Fservice-kontakt%2Fp-c-haeuser%2Fstandort%2F%3Fno_cache%3D1%26locationId%3Da1u6sdntb8%26iso%3DDE%26rbpwbrdet%3Daz&format=pretty-xml&warnings=false&parser=lax&space-preserve=true

Unfortunately, Peek & Cloppenburg does not provide a sitemap of all
store pages, so crawling all the data is a bit difficult.

Also, note that the RDFa is included in the HTML-only pages only, not in
the default Flash variants.

PyRDFa and Sindice can both parse the triples, despite the fact that the
page itself is not valid XHTML and does not include a proper RDFa
DOCTYPE. Take this as an indication that the W3C technology stack for
linked data is now pretty mature and robust ;-)

Best wishes

Martin Hepp
